[my ego is bigger than yours!!!]

ARM WRESTLE MY EGO

Over the past few years much of my research has been centered on ideas of the avatar — often using myself as my own avatar — thus allowing me to perform myself instead of attempting to be or represent myself.

In Arm Wrestle My Ego I have attempted to take these processes a step further by intrinsically linking my avatar’s performance to the relative speed of my processor to the viewer’s processor and manual dexterity. By tying video of myself to this manual-digital combination, I hope to force the viewer/player to engage the kinesthetic processes required in digital activities.

Also, I hope with this piece to push questions of online identification and performance by pulling viewers into a perceived personality struggle in addition to the digital competition.
