*Some Rather Long Words Every Child Should Know* is my second picture book designed for my new, wee bab, one that blends experimental design with the children's book genre. Premised on the idea of illustrating a GRE vocabulary list for small children, the end result is a book equally comfortable on a nursery bookshelf or a coffee table. Each design in this book encourages readers to actively investigate each word, to play with possibilities and permutations, to examine alternate ways of understanding language and ideas; they are also just plain fun.
